Jobs and Small Businesses
The COVID-19 pandemic devastated our city’s economy, emptying office spaces and dramatically curbing tourism. No area has been hit harder than Lower Manhattan, and in particular, Chinatown. Grace will work with other state and federal legislators to bring additional economic relief downtown, through grants and loan relief, to help revitalize our embattled community.
City and State contracting opportunities are incredibly beneficial for local businesses, and Grace supports the expansion of contracting goals for Minority and Women-Owned Businesses (MWBE). Despite ambitious goals by the state, the amount of money awarded to MWBE’s is minuscule compared to other contractors. By streamlining the process of registering companies as MWBE’s through outreach and the use of digital approval processes, we will increase the universe of MWBEs who are eligible for contracts.
